Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)
The look in one’s eyes affects their appearance and reflects their inner self. Aging first becomes noticeable at the eyelid area, as eye bags start to form under the eyes due to fat and excess skin appears on the upper eyelids. The fall of the eyebrows makes the situation even worse. The first signs of aging appear on the eyelids because the skin is much thinner and laxer on that area. These signs are obvious on the face of many people, who always look tired or older than they really are.
A blepharoplasty will rejuvenate your face instantly and permanently. This is the main reason why blepharoplasty is one of the most common procedures for men and women. Blepharoplasty is usually combined with a MACS lift, a Brow lift and Lipofilling, aiming at an overall facial rejuvenation.
Brief description of the procedure
The procedure requires local anesthesia. Incision lines are drawn on the natural skin folds of the upper and lower eyelid. If there is only excess fat and no excess skin on the lower eyelid, the incision is made through the conjunctiva. The excess skin and fat are surgically removed from the upper eyelid. The excess fat of the lower eyelid can either be removed or repositioned at the right place (fat redraping), regardless of the type of incision that will be chosen (external or through the conjunctiva).
Dr. Varnalidis uses a specialized modern technique of intraorbital fat retention and suspension of the lower eyelid that has permanent results and offers the desired almond eye shape. Dr. Varnalidis specializes in face cosmetic surgery and uses the latest techniques in order to achieve a permanent and natural result.
